Last night, the villagers participated in Olympiada (Olympics) for our evening program. The contests included balancing an orange on a spoon, a three legged race, a wheelbarrow race, and tug-o-war. Everyone had a great time competing in these events, as it was a fun way to end the day and everyone participated.
After welcoming children to camp on Monday, we had our first full day of lessons and activities today. Each day begins with a presentation of the day’s завтрак (breakfast) by a team of counselors and children.
The first day of camp went well. After getting their passports checked, choosing a Russian name, and exchanging dollars for rubles at the bank, villagers went farther down the road to the main part of camp.
Here at Lesnoe Ozero, we are busy doing last-minute tasks in preparation for the first day of the session. We are excited to see both new and familiar faces tomorrow and to begin a great summer here at the Russian village
