Learn Korean

Activities

Each day of the program, as you canoe and swim in Turtle River Lake, sing songs around the camp fire, and play Korean games, you’ll surprise yourself with how much and how quickly you learn. Read more about the activities you’ll enjoy at Sup sogŭi Hosu.

Authentic Cuisine

Authentic Cuisine

Every menu is carefully planned to offer you a variety of delicious, authentic Korean foods. Meals typically consist of steamed rice (pap), kimch’i and soup, plus an assortment of side dishes (panch’an). Broiled beef (pulgogi) and steamed ribs (kalbitchim) are favorites. Some Korean dishes can be rather spicy, but many are very mild. Learn more about food at our Korean Language Village.

Music and Dance

Music and Dance

Music is a great way to expand your knowledge of Korean language and culture. Learn to play a new instrument, like the boisterous samul-nori percussion, or try dances new and old. Read more.

Scholarships

Scholarships

Need-based scholarships are available for Korean summer youth immersion sessions through the Passport Fund. Scholarships are based on a family’s adjusted gross income, number of dependents, and the length of the session.

Additionally, the Minnesota Office of Higher Education offers a $1,000 stipend for Minnesota students who qualify for free or reduced lunch at school. Additional information is available here.

Our staff includes both native Korean speakers and non-native speakers who have learned Korean - just like you! All of our staff are focused on your learning, and making sure you have an unforgettable experience at Sup sogŭi Hosu.

Our Location

Located near Bemidji, Minn., our site is located on Turtle River Lake on the site of a former resort. We have optional transportation services available to assist participants from across the country.
