Every session of our Spanish immersion camp provides the opportunity to use Spanish language while participating in activities such as canto (singing), telenovela (the Village soap opera) and la fogata (campfire). Other cultural activities include periodismo (journalism), culinaria (cooking), and arte. There’s always something for you to enjoy. Learn more.
With foods from a variety of Spanish speaking countries - our menu is big and varied! Tempt your taste buds with familiar fare like enchiladas and tacos, as well as foods you may not have had before, like asado argentino (Argentine barbecue) or pollo al ajo. You will have many opportunities to practice your Español while participating in athletic activities, such asfútbol (soccer), canoas (canoeing) and voleibol (volleyball). Learn more about sports at El Lago del Bosque.
At El Lago del Bosque, you’ll get to know the Spanish-speaking world through its music, from singing Spanish songs to learning traditional dances like la salsa and el tango. A popular pasatiempos is the line dance, where villagers dance to modern songs from Latin America and Spain. Learn more.
Need-based scholarships are available for Spanish summer youth immersion sessions through the Passport Fund. Scholarships are based on a family’s adjusted gross income, number of dependents, and the length of the session.
Additionally, the Minnesota Office of Higher Education offers a $1,000 stipend for Minnesota students who qualify for free or reduced lunch at school. Additional information is available here.
